Miss California visits UC Davis Children's Hospital

Miss California Jessa Carmack made a visit to patients at UC Davis Children's Hospital this week, along with Miss Sacramento County Lauren Berlinn, Miss Sacramento County's Outstanding Teen Nikki Holbrook and Miss City of Sacramento Outstanding Teen Violet Joy Hansen.

The group spent time meeting kids in the Davis 7 Playroom and then touring the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The Miss America Organization has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to raise funds and awareness for children’s hospitals throughout the United States. UC Davis Children's Hospital is the only Children's Miracle Network Hospital in the Sacramento region.

UC Davis Children's Hospital is the Sacramento region's only nationally ranked, comprehensive hospital providing care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with primary, subspecialty and critical care. It includes the Central Valley's only pediatric emergency department and Level I pediatric trauma center, which offers the highest level of care for its critically ill patients, as well as the West Coast's only Level I children's surgery center. The 129-bed children's hospital includes the state-of-the-art 49-bed neonatal and 24-bed pediatric intensive care and pediatric cardiac intensive care units.
