Once again, UC Davis Medical Center has been selected as a Consumer Choice Award winner by National Research Corporation (NRC). This year marks the 16th time UC Davis Medical Center has received the award.
The 2015-16 award recognizes a single hospital in each of 300 markets nationwide that health-care consumers choose as providing the highest-quality health care.
“The dedicated health-care teams at UC Davis Medical Center deserve the credit for ensuring our hospital is the destination of choice for care in our region,” said Ann Madden Rice, CEO of the medical center. “This recognition reflects the trust that our patients and the Sacramento region has placed in us to deliver high-quality, safe patient care.”
The award is based on a survey conducted between September 2014 and August 2015 that covered more than 300,000 households throughout the continental U.S. Health-care decision makers were asked to rate their local hospitals on multiple quality and image ratings. Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on Core Based Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with winning facilities being ranked the highest.
Out of 15 hospitals in the Sacramento region, UC Davis Medical Center received the highest percentage of “best” ratings in four areas:
- Best overall quality
- Best overall image and reputation
- Best doctors
- Best nurses
According to NRC, the survey is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive consumer assessment of the health-care industry. The study has a margin of error of plus or minus 0.2 percent at a national level. For more information, visit http://www.nationalresearch.com/.
